Cancun

So, here we are almost done with June and just now posting our pictures from our honeymoon.  No, we're not lazy.  The real reason is we just wanted to keep you in suspense and coming back to check.  Yes, that's the reason.  Looks like it worked.

We left Saturday night and didn't arrive until noon on Sunday.  We had a layover in Mexico City, and during the whole trip we were sooo tired.  I was afraid we were going to miss our connecting flight because we kept falling asleep.  But we finally made it and had to sleep to catch up.
Our hotel room balcony had a great view of both shores:

We stayed in the Hotel Omni, and it was so nice! They had multiple restaurants (which we did not eat at but they looked nice), a spa, two huge pools, and a great part of the white sand beach.

Every night we tried to find someplace different and authentic to eat, although one night we did resort to the Hard Rock Cafe, which was one of the more delicious choices.  But we did eat at a lot of authentic hole-in-the-wall places, which was so awesome.  For people who love Mexican food, as we do, it was more than we could ask for.

Aside from food, we didn't have too much money to spend on other things, but our one big thing that we splurged on was a couple's massage in the hotel spa.  It was a full hour, and it was in a small room with rock walls and sounds of birds and rainforest.  It was so relaxing.  We wished it lasted all day.

We were lucky, I think, because it was not extremely hot while we were there.  A few of the days it actually rained, which was not cold, but still.  It was not bad, it was very enjoyable.  We would usually go to the beach in the afternoon, play in the ocean, get tan, then it would start to rain and we would go in.  It was a nice routine.

I know one of Heather's favorite points of the trip was when we left the Hard Rock Cafe.  After we got out there was a man with a monkey, and we took pictures with it.  Heather was very excited, she loves monkeys.  This one was funny.  The man would say something in Spanish, and the monkey would hurry into position, either laying on our shoulders, standing on our hands, or putting his arms around our faces, as can be seen in this picture:
We were very excited by this monkey.  He definitely didn't look as excited as us.

Finally, at the end of the week, our trip was over.  We made the journey back home, far more awake than the trip out.  We loved the trip, it was so much fun and so relaxing.  Maybe we will go back someday when we have more money to do the stuff we wanted to do.
