Our Wedding Day!
So now that I have pictures, I can write all about our wedding day! We headed up nice and early to the temple Saturday morning on the 8th of May and met at the temple. Jed and I waited in the Celestial room while our guests arrived, and it was just so nice and peaceful in there. I felt just so calm and happy and poor Jed was hungry and nervous, but after a long time of waiting we got to go in. It was such a wonderful ceremony, and while I don't remember much, I do remember so many wonderful family members and friends there, everyone smiling, and I remember me crying a lot. It was so special, and it was so nice to know I was finally married to Jed! So then we got dressed in our tux/dress and went to meet everyone. It was super super windy. For all the pictures someone (usually Jed) had to hold my veil down to my back so that it wouldn't fly in my or someone else's face.
Once we took pictures, we hurried (and were late) to our 2:00 luncheon at Joe Vera's Mexican Fiestaurant. It was delicious and except for the fact that it took WAY too long for some people to get their food, I think everyone really liked the food and had a good time.
After that, we were super exhausted. Jed took a nap, but I had a few things to do like put music on my ipod for the wedding (for while Randy wasn't playing the piano) and I didn't want to squish my hair ha ha. So instead of napping I played some card games with two of my bridesmaids and one groomsman.
The reception was at 7 at night, and it was beautiful. I spent all these months planning it, and it was above and beyond what I was expecting. I was so so happy with the decorations. The cake looked perfect, and the food tasted good. It was so fun to say hi to everyone and to hug people and it was all just such a great evening. By the end, though, Jed and I definitely were tired. And so after we changed into more casual clothes, we went outside to our lovely decorated car. The white paint still hasn't quite all come off, but we'll work on that eventually.
One funny story is that after our reception, we stopped by Smith's to get some snacks and there were police blocking everything off and police tape everywhere so you couldn't get in! Turns out there had been a shooting in Smith's. Random little story, but we found it to be a funny end to the day's festivities.

Definitely a 'wedding in a nutshell' account :) So glad it was the perfect day. Chris and Emma had a great time and we're all looking forward to seeing both of you in July!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little disturbed that you think that a shooting is funny. :P
