This week we went out for our weekly date night. As usual, I kept the details from Heather until shortly beforehand to maximize the surprise. This time, it was a picnic. First, we went to Raley's and got some custom made sandwiches from the deli there, complete with our choice of side salad and drinks. We then drove to our picnic location, which was the large open park area next to the temple with all the oak trees.
Every time we've driven by the temple we've always said we wanted to have a picnic there because it looks so shaded and comfortable, and instead of letting it turn into a "someday" thing I decided it would be fun. So, we laid out our blanket and our food and relaxed.
As we ate, however, we realized that the grass was littered with thousands of hovering wasps, which I did not like. Needless to say the picnic portion of our date was brief.
From there we went to Sunsplash and went mini-golfing and also go kart racing, which were both fun. It was Heather's first time doing anything at Sunsplash and she had fun as well. Looking back, we should have taken pictures of that too, but oh well.
