"Oh they say when you marry in June..."

It seems like tons of people I know are getting married this summer, and there are two in particular I was looking forward to the most: two of my former roommates. This week, we got to celebrate and attend the wedding of my roommate Amy to her now husband, Brandon.

Thursday was their reception. It was going to be in Amy's aunt's backyard, which was beautiful and which I would love Jed and my future backyard to look like. However, there was terrible wind that made it so that they had to move the reception to a church. Seriously, the table cloths where going everywhere, our dresses were flying in all directions but where they were supposed to stay (around our legs) and it was difficult to stay outside. So, everyone frantically moved everything to the church they had planned to use in case of inclement weather, and in seriously 20 minutes it looked perfect. All in all, the reception turned out lovely. The only downside to the reception was that poor Jed got terrible allergies from all the wind. So, he took some very strong allergy medicine and he could hardly stay awake during the reception (and he in fact took a little nap in the Relief Society room on a row of chairs).

Isn't this a cute picture of Amy and her mother?

Friday was the temple ceremony and the luncheon. The ceremony was great and I don't have much more to say than that! All the sealings I've been to (which is actually five including mine so I feel like I pretty much know what's going on ha ha) are lovely and you hear wonderful things. After the ceremony, we waited for what seemed way too long until the happy couple finally came out. Then we waited some more in order to take pictures on the stairs with the whole group. While waiting we were all hungry and luckily I packed some graham crackers! Ha ha we were all happy to have a snack, even if it was little. And by we I mean Amy's old roommates and their men.

Here's the happy couple when they came out of the temple.

Pictures took quite a long time, but it was still fun. They took the group pictures, then many, many family pictures, and finally at the end were the bridesmaid/groomsmen pictures.

Then we headed over to the luncheon which was next door at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The food was great (especially the rolls with the honey butter). There were many speeches, which were all wonderful and several made everyone a little choked up. Personally, I have to repeat what Brandon had to say. He said how everything he had done was so that he could find Amy. That was wonderful! It showed the preparation that Brandon had put into this, and that he didn't just enjoy life for no reason. He knew that blessings like Amy would come as he was faithful. I'm sure it's something we all can work on, even if we've found our eternal companion already.

Speaking of finding your eternal companion, Saturday (the 18th) was Kyli and Brad's one year anniversary! Here's a picture of the happy couple who are no longer newlyweds.

All it all, it was a nice wedding. Even though Jed was late to work, we were so glad we were able to attend the wedding and support our wonderful friends! Now we can look forward to Natalie's wedding in August!
